Our comment: BC Racing’s BR coilover kit offers incredible value for money, and have rightly been met with enormous praise from Acura RSX owners over the years.

With a bargain price tag and 30 levels of adjustment, this kit is capable of offering superior performance even when compared to some of the more expensive competitors on the market.

You may want to consider investing a little more cash for an advanced setup if you’re serious about track time. However, for a daily driver that occasionally gets blasted on the canyons or sometimes heads to the circuit, these are hard to beat for the price.

Our comment: Legendary JDM suspension manufacture TEIN brings this INSANELY cheap product to the market, which you may think is a typo at first glance. We’re glad to inform you that not everything is too good to be true in the automotive world.

Are you currently looking for the cheapest respectable kit on the market? Look no further!

Although this is a basic no-frills setup that doesn’t allow for adjustable damping, TEIN has put their experts to the task of creating a coilover that works amazingly well out of the box.

Additional cost-saving has been achieved by making these a sealed unit, which means that you won’t be able to get them rebuilt further down the line. However, for the price, they’re almost half the price of the average kit on the market and rebuilds undoubtedly don’t come cheap.

Overall, this is an amazingly priced kit, and TEIN certainly wouldn’t put their name to junk parts. If you were unfortunate enough to have an issue in a few years’ time, then you can get another brand new kit rather than having to go through the hassle and expense of rebuilding.

Our comment: German suspension giants KW certainly need no introduction. One of the most sought-after brands in the coilover world, the V2 are the mid-range product in their premium selection.

The main difference between the range is that the V1 is 1-way adjustable, V2 is 2-way, and I’m sure you get where we’re going for V3!

What does 2-way adjustability entail? It allows you to adjust both the damping and the ride height, where the V1 would allow for ride height adjustment only. This allows for 16 stages of dampening to achieve the perfect setup for your needs.

KW is known for their industry-leading quality, and this kit is no exception. Only the finest materials have been used in their kits, and the Stainless Steel construction means that you’ll never have to worry about the metal seizing or bonding, which can be a common problem further down the line.

They’re certainly not the cheapest offering in our guide, but as we’re sure anyone lucky enough to own a set of these will tell you – the performance and quality they offer makes them worth every dime.

Depending on what you use the car for, ISC will provide the perfect springs for your needs. If you often head to the track, they’ve got you covered with their Race/Track setup, or if the car is a daily driver, then the Street Sport setup is likely to be more ideal.

Our comment: You may well have seen this kit referred to as ‘FF’, and no, they’re not talking about The Fast And The Furious!

The FF coilovers have proven to be an extremely popular kit for the money among owners over the years, and many would argue that it’s one of the better choices out there for the money. These are often regarded as being an extremely comfortable daily setup, as long as you don’t go too low!

As you may have guessed, the ‘ER’ stands for External Reservoirs, this enables extra cooling to the fluid which is perfect for prolonged track use.

Not only will this out-perform most of the competitors at the track, but since this is part of BC’s ‘Extreme Low’ range, you can guarantee that you’ll be able to find the perfect ride height to achieve the ultimate handling

Our comment: We’ve already taken a look at the N1 earlier in our guide, but this budget alternative from ISC offers an excellent price for those that are looking for a basic road setup in the quest for ‘lows.’

You’re probably wondering what the difference is between the two? Well, the regular N1 features adjustable camber plates with pillow balls, where this option instead opts for solid top plates.

This is fine if you’re just using the car as a daily driver and want to improve the looks, whilst also improving the handling somewhat. However, if you’re looking for full adjustability for the ultimate track setup, this kit isn’t likely to be for you.

Our comment: We reviewed the TEIN Basis Z setup earlier in our guide, and this is the premium RSX offering from the JDM tuning giants.

This is a very highly-regarded kit, which offers excellent comfort when cruising on the streets, and also holds its own when being pushed to the limits on the track.

Although we wouldn’t be choosing this setup for a designated track car, it’s an excellent option for those of you that want to push the performance of your RSX occasionally..

One of the bonuses is that this kit is compatible with TEIN’s EDFC, which is an optional extra which allows you to adjust the damping from the driver’s seat as you drive. This is certainly a unique selling point!

However, although they’re priced reasonably enough, we feel that there are better alternatives for just a little extra cash, such as the BC Racing BR or the TEIN Basis.

This is another basic setup which doesn’t allow for adjustable dampening and is known for being a little on the harsh side considering.

They may suit you if you’re after a basic setup, but given that the price falls into a similar bracket to the BC Racing BR’s, which allows for full adjustability, we think they offer far better value for money.

Our comment: You may be thinking that there’s a typo in the price here, but we’re afraid not! Moton is one of the industry-leaders when it comes to providing state-of-the-art true coilover setups.

Although this is certainly never going to generate a mass-market appeal, we’ve added it to our guide for those of you that are planning to build the ultimate track car.

Unfortunately, this eye-watering price tag doesn’t provide you with springs, so you’ll also have to take that into consideration. However, you’re going to struggle to find a better RSX option on the market if you’re serious about competitive racing!
