Introduction
One of our favorite aspects of Forza Horizon 4 is the sheer number of cars that can be purchased and unlocked within the game.
Although the roster may not be as impressive as Forza Motorsport 7’s 830+ vehicle list, there’s still a ridiculous selection of 724 vehicles in Horizon 4 to provide endless hours of entertainment.
There’s an enormous selection of cars waiting to be sourced from the Auction House, and you’ll also top up the contents of your garage with wheelspins and various bonuses along the way.
But, what about when you want those insanely rare cars that are difficult to get your hands on?
That’s right – we’re talking about the games Barn Finds.
The UK has provided some of the most incredible Barn Finds for petrolheads over the years, and Forza has decided to be even more generous than ever when it comes to their Horizon 4 selection.
Some of the rarest and most sought-after cars in the game can only be found by visiting these locations to get your hands on them, and we’ll be explaining how to navigate to each one in this guide with minimal effort.
With 16 Barn Finds hidden throughout the British countryside, Turn 10 has made them more challenging to find than the previous generations of the game, so we’re not surprised you’re struggling.
If you’re keen to get your hands on the classic car of your dreams, these in-game Barn Finds will provide the perfect opportunity to restore these abandoned classics to their former glory.
How To Unlock Forza Horizon 4 Barn Finds
As you play the in-game campaign mode, it’ll take around 60 minutes of in-game driving to receive the rumors for each Barn Find.
Unfortunately, you’ll need to be patient and wait for these. Although we’re providing every specific location in this guide, you still need to play the game until the rumors get announced. Otherwise, the Barn will be locked, and since this isn’t GTA V, breaking in isn’t an option!
Once you’ve completed ‘The Bohemoth Showcase’ the Barn Finds start coming at you thick and fast, so put some decent hours into enjoying the game first.
The DJ will announce each Darn Find rumor over the radio, or you may get a top-secret phone call from Alex. Once notified, you’re provided with a find the Barn’s vague location with a hint circle on the map.
Once you’re informed of the opportunity to unlock each vehicle, this guide will save you the hassle of endlessly searching for the Barn location, as we’ll be pinpointing it on the map to point you directly to its whereabouts.
We’ve made tracking down each Barn Find as simple as possible.
To do this, we’ve provided a map, a written explanation, and the shortest and most informative YouTube videos to show you exactly where to head.
Oh, and don’t worry, the YouTube videos aren’t your typical 15-minute junk. Thankfully, HSG Automotive has provided a simple, straight-to-the-point short clip to show you exactly where to head.
Seasonal/Additional Barn Finds
With some Barn Finds, you’re only able to unlock them during specific seasons, rotating every seven (real world) days in the game.
If you’re too impatient to wait for the seasons to roll around, make sure you check out our Forza Horizon 4 cheats guide to explain everything you need to know when it comes to fast-tracking through the seasons.
For one vehicle, the Bentley, this would typically require Bamburgh Castle’s purchase, but fear not, there’s also a workaround for this, which we’ll be explaining.
DLC Barn Finds
The latest Barn Find will also require the LEGO Champions DLC purchase – so don’t panic if you can’t locate all 16 right away – we’ll be explaining everything shortly.
Checking Your Barn Finds
Once you’ve unlocked your first Barn Finds, you’ll be able to head to the ‘Garage’ tab when visiting one of your houses to show which ones are ready to roll. But don’t panic – you’ll be informed when the restoration is complete.
Although your newly-found rusty old Barn Finds are going to take some time to restore to their former glory, those of you that have earned a crazy amount of credits will be able to 1.6 million to have them fixed up right away. But make sure you don’t do this by accident!
Just like every other car in the game, you’ll be able to customize and modify your Barn Finds once they’re ready.
If you decide that you no longer want your Barn Find, you’ll need to sell them in the Auction House, as you’re not able to delete them from the garage otherwise.
Forza Horizon 4 Barn Find Locations
Although there are a total of 16 Barn Finds in the game, we’ll be listing the first ten in this section.
The rest of the cars, which have individual requirements, such as a specific season, a castle purchase, or DLC content, will be provided in the guide’s later sections.
We’ve provided the cars in alphabetical order to make them easy to find.
1983 Audi Quattro
For us, the Quattro sums up 80s motorsport at its finest, and it’s easily one of the most enjoyable Barn Finds in the game, equally practical on the road as it is getting launched over enormous jumps.
You can get your hands on the German rallying legend by heading south-east of the Slate Quarry next to the Derwent Reservoir.
The Quattro’s Barn is hidden deep into the forest, but once you’ve navigated through the first section of trees, it’ll soon appear.
1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo
Although this car may not have been popular in the US, it was once just about every British teenagers’ dream ride.
Located east of ‘The Bohemoth Showcase’, you’ll need to head to Glen Rannoch region, where the Barn is situated on top of a small mountain in the higher elevations near a radio tower.
Thankfully, this is one of the more convenient cars to locate right away since it’s not hidden in the forest like others, and the cell tower nearby will soon be easily visible.
Make sure you hang around and enjoy the incredible views. This RS Turbo has enjoyed the high life, and it’s only going to get better from here, as it prepares to get restored to its former glory!
1961 Jaguar E-Type S1
By heading to the south-east of Tarn Hows, you’ll stumble across a small lake.
From there, head north-west past the flowers and then up the hill. From here, you’ll see the Barn just before the forest on the outskirts of the hint area, which happens to be hiding a rather special S1 E-Type Jag eagerly awaiting repair.
1993 Jaguar XJ220
The Jaguar XJ220 is unquestionably a motoring legend and undoubtedly our favorite Barn Find in the game.
This insanely-rare 90s supercar is found by heading down a small private road located east of Ambleside, and the Barn will be situated in a cluster of trees in the middle of the field.
Although you may struggle to find it initially, you’ll soon get there.
1997 Lotus Elise GT1
Another wrecked British motoring classic begging for restoration is the Lotus Elise GT1.
Located slightly south-west of the quarry, you’ll soon see the Barn pop up once you hit the dirt roads.
You’re probably going to struggle to find this one with the drone. It’s buried deep within the trees, and the Barn’s roof can get camouflaged among the foliage, especially during the Fall season.
1966 MG MGB GT
When you receive the MG MGB GT (that’s a bit of a tongue-twister), the map will direct you to Astmoor.
You’ll need to venture off-road to find it, but if you head north of Astmoor, then you’ll find it located on the wind farm, east of the Mudkickers Adventure Park.
Hidden among the trees once again is another British motoring classic that you’ll soon be able to enjoy.
1965 Mini Cooper S
Although most of our list has been motorsport classics so far, the Mini deserves praise in its own right as a true British icon.
You may remember it as Mr. Bean’s weapon of choice, but the Mini has too earned its place in the motoring history books.
The Mini is found in Derwent Water’s southern region, north of Ambleside and just off the main road before the mountain ranges.
Once there, you’ll soon find it hidden away in the sloped area hiding among the trees.
1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STI
Although the Impreza isn’t British like most of the other Barn Finds, Scotsman Colin McRae’s talent behind the wheel in the World Rally Championship certainly made it one of the most desirable cars on the planet.
The 22B can be one of the harder Barn Finds to locate, as it’s hidden deep in Lakehurst Forest.
Aim for the northern part of the hint circle and the southern region of Lakehurst Forest. Hidden amongst the thick foliage just off the dirt road is the Barn where the 22B resides.
1962 Triumph Spitfire
The Triumph Spitfire isn’t too well-known outside of the UK compared to most of this list, but it can certainly make a cool addition to your garage.
Head to the ‘Express Railyard’ the game, north of Lakehurst Forest.
Once you’ve arrived at the Express Railyard, drive along the east side and look for a fence gap close to one of the train hangars.
Drive through the opening and into the trees, which you’ll soon see are surrounding the Barn.
Given its location, once again hidden among the trees, you’ll struggle to find this one with the drone.
1998 TVR Cerbera Speed 12
The final vehicle you can unlock without the Bamburgh Castle or waiting for the seasons is the marvelous TVR Speed 12.
This epic lightweight car is perfect for some sideways action on the twisty highland roads.
Head to the Greendale Airstrip, and you’ll soon find this situated within a large compound located a short distance south-east of the Airstrip.
The Barn Find is located within one of several buildings located in the area.
Thankfully, it’s not hidden in the trees like most, although there is a line of trees nearby. You’ll be able to identify it conveniently using the drone. It has extensive farmland in front and some other buildings behind.
Forza Horizon 4 Seasonal & Extra Barn Find Locations
Barn Finds located within this section will need to either be tracked down during specific seasons throughout the year or with Bamburgh Castle’s purchase.
If you’re not able to unlock the car after heading to the Barn Find location, it’s likely due to you being in the wrong in-game season.
Although it takes around seven real-world days for the in-game seasons to change, for those that can’t wait to get their hands on their next Barn Find, make sure you check out our Forza Horizon 4 cheats guide.
1964 Ford GT40 MK1 (Spring Season)
Typically worth 9 million credits in the game, the Ford GT40 is well worth tracking down, as it’s a desirable Auction House item that’ll net you big bucks if you don’t wish to keep it.
The GT40 can only be unlocked in the spring, so make sure you’re in the right season, or if you can’t wait, carry out the in-game cheat to switch seasons.
Head over to the north of Moorhead Wind Farm. You’ll have more luck seeing it from the western side of the farm, as it’s hidden from view within the trees from the east.
It typically shows up as dead-center of the ‘Moorhead Wind Farm’ name when looking at the map.
1962 Peel P50 (Summer Season)
Summer comes with many positives, and you might even get to see some sunshine in the UK!
But, the most significant positive of all is that you’ll finally be able to get your hands on the hilarious Peel P50.
Weirdly enough, this makes a highly amusingly capable drag racer. So, if you’re looking for something a little different, you’ll want to hunt this one down.
Venture towards the forest located south of Effington White Horse, and the Barn Find is west of Ashbrook.
As you’ve probably guessed, it’s once again in woodland, but shouldn’t take too long to find.
1960 Aston Martin DB4 Zagato (Autumn Season)
As Fall arrives, you’ll soon be handed the opportunity to get your hands on the cherished Aston Martin DB4, which thankfully doesn’t require the James Bond DLC.
Thankfully, this is an easy find, and if you head south of the Horizon Festival site, keep an eye out for a lake at the west of the hint circle. You’ll then find the Barn a short distance north of the lake.
1973 Range Rover (Winter Season)
Once winter comes around, and the snow and ice have presented a difficult challenge for your supercars, it’s the perfect opportunity to get behind the wheel of this classic Land Rover.
Unlike the others, this unique Barn Find is situated on a small island that you can access by driving over the now-frozen Derwent Water lake.
Once you reach the island, it’ll be clear to see despite being among the trees.
1931 Bentley 4-1/2 Liter Supercharged (Castle)
The ‘Bentley Blower’ is another unique Barn Find, as this will be rewarded to buyers of the Bamburgh Castle, which will set you back an eye-watering 10 million credits.
Once purchased, you’ll find the Barn hiding south of the castle in a small forest located just off the road in the middle of the hint circle.
Additional DLC Barn Find Location
Thankfully, just one of the Barn Finds requires DLC content, and it’s the LEGO Speed Champions DLC that you’ll need if you wish to get your hands on this insanely cool Porsche.
Although it probably won’t be worth the additional purchase for everyone, it’s great to see Forza providing extra Barn Finds in the game.
1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 – Lego Speed Champions Edition (Lego Speed Champions DLC)
First things first, you’re going to need to get your hands on the Lego Speed Champions DLC to unlock this.
Once you have, it’s convenient to find compared to most of the others.
Head to the north of the Lego map, towards the Falcon Speedway, and you’ll find the Barn hidden left of the desert area to the south of the Speedway, once again hidden among the trees.
Conclusion
Although some are easier to locate than others, we’re sure this guide will have you tracking down these incredible Barn Finds as quickly as possible.
Our combination of a map pinpointing the location combined with a written explanation and some fantastic YouTube videos provides the perfect weaponry to locate them all right away.
Remember that you’ll need to put some hours into the game before you’re able to begin unlocking the Barn Finds, but once you do, it’s well worth it knowing you’ll soon be restoring these motoring classics to their former glory!
